Fees
Important information
Wangara Medical Centre is a private practice, while we would love to be able to bulk bill all consults, the reality is that we cannot.
Please note that children under 16, DVA and pension card holders over 65 will continue to be bulk billed with most of our GPs if you are unsure please speak to our reception team.
Healthcare Card Holders will need to check with reception as not all doctors bulk bill those who have a valid card.
Our reception team can help to send through to Medicare for your rebate if we have your correct details.
Our doctors bill on time and complexity of the consultation.
Our Policy
Our practice is responsible for ensuring all incidents involving staff, patients and others are managed professionally and ethically, according to relevant medical standards, guidelines and State or Territory legislation.
Staff are instructed in safety and infection control protocols ensuring risks are known and precautions taken, including vaccinations during induction. All staff have a responsibility to ensure this education has been undertaken.
GPs and staff work together to maintain a safe physical work environment and all practice and office equipment is appropriate for its purpose.
Cancellation Policy
Our practice has systems in place to track and if necessary follow up patients that cancelled or did not attend (DNA) a scheduled appointment.
If you do not attend your appointment then you should be prepared to pay a DNA fee before you can attend your next appointment.
Our practice requires you to give at least 2 hours notice when cancelling your appointment or a DNA fee will apply.
After Hours, Emergency & Walk Ins
In the event that you may walk in or call the practice every
effort will be given to accommodate you with a doctor or
the nurse.
Even if you are a concession card holder or child under 15 please check with reception as the doctor you are seeing may not bulk bill.
The clinic has engaged the services of (WADMS) to provide
a locum service for the after-hours medical care of patients.
If the doctor feels you require a home visit during our
working hours, this will be organised by one of our nurses
for you through WADMS.

Outside of the clinic’s normal hours of operation, in cases of
medical emergency, patients can seek assistance from:

Communication Policy
It is our practice policy to help avoid delays and maintain
confidentiality, to limit interruptions to the doctors whilst
they are consulting except in the event of a medical
emergency. All patients are required to make an
appointment. We do offer telephone consults for your convenience and as such a fee will apply. Emails are not our preferred option in communicating due to it not being secure and is not monitored at all times. Please note, appointment bookings or cancellations, script requests and advice from our doctors are not to be emailed through.
Management of your personal health information
Keeping in line with the National Privacy principles your
medical records are maintained as a confidential document.
It is the policy of the practice to maintain security of
personal health information at all times.
You are welcome to move your medical records to another
medical centre at any time, please note that the centre
does charge a fee and this request is actioned within a
timely manner as per our policy. Please speak to one of the
reception team for more information.
Privacy Policy

Our fees are payable on the day, if you fail to pay you will be required to settle the account prior to being seen here again. Any new patient seen at the practice will be charged a fee to be seen, if you have a concession card or if you are under 16 then the next time you attend you may be bulk billed by certain GPs.
